Jesuit TE Travis Johnson said he decided he wanted to leave state for college -- geography worked against USF as he chose Cincinnati.

wow, at least some Big East teams are pulling in a haul...good for the conference. I don't think Travis Johnson would have gotten much playing time honestly, especially if we pull in Coley and Valdez.

He would have been a great addition and would have seen plenty of playing time. He wanted to leave the state, nothing wrong with that. Good luck to him!

After reading a recent article about him wanting to leave the area, which I can appreciate, I knew he was gone.  Would have loved to have him here, but wish him luck at Cincy...except when we play them.

After living in Cincy about a year, you may see him come back.  That place absolutely sucks compared to Florida.  I've travelled all over and it's got to be one of the places I dread most when I know I need to go there.

Even so, he wouldn't be allowed to transfer within the conference to USF.

Isn't that up to the coach of the team a player is transferring from? (Not that Tuberville would ever release someone freely anyway)

Pretty sure it's in the conference bylaws. Coach can choose where to release a player too, but conference mates are are completely off limits.
