  1. Got a good deal on Black Friday. Anyone know Willie's mailing address?
  2. Don't like the defense but they are not the reason for our dismal record despite them regressing from last year. This dumpsterfire is all on Taggart and his horrendous offensive playcalling and game management.
  3. My take away is that Harlan knows what needs to be done and doesn't rely on message boards and instant satisfaction. If it's better for the program, Taggart's gone... if not, Taggart gets another year I don't see how keeping him is better for the program. His philosophy is boring, doesn't work here and is driving fans away. Are they looking to see how few season tickets they can get next year? Easy: 1) Affordability. He's the one that knows more than anyone else whether or not USF can even afford bringing in a new coach 2) I've heard many arguments (from talk shows, news, even from other struggling programs long long ago) that firing a new coach that doesn't succeed fairly early makes it more difficult to bring other quality coaches. Most coaches probably agree (based on new coach speeches) that the first year is usually a rebuilding year and is a throw away. So now if the program doesn't produce the 2nd year they are kicked out...? Coaches want time to build up a bad program. 3) Related to #2... Harlan may have already sent out feelers and know what's currently available. Also, unless the new coach is a splash hire, it would have little effect on attendance. Most of the ones leaving/left are tired of the losing and won't be back until the winning starts again ... I can only speak for myself but the only way I won't renew next year is if Taggart is back. Don't need a splash hire to sell me, just some semblance of hope.
  4. Taggart is a decent recruiter but the worst gameday coach I have ever seen at any level of football. He makes Holtz look like a genius.
  5. Just beat everyone to the punch and call ourselves the Big 16 (well aware we don't have 16 members)
  6. Brody, I'm a finance major as well. From a banker's perspective, I disagree with you 110%. Companies who act in the way you want our athletic department to act rarely make good/succesful clients. Our #1 priority should be paying down all the debt we've accrued upgrading our facilities thus far. I haven't seen the books but I'm sure these upgrades were made with the assumption our revenues were going to increase substantially. I highly doubt spending $14MM on the construction of an IPF is going to make much of a difference to the Big XII/ACC. Invitations will be given to institutions which add value ($$$) to their brand. An IPF, while making us marginally a more attractive destination for HS athletes, doesn't accomplish that. Brody love the passion but please don't do any financial planning or return on investment projects any time soon... IMO No CEOor financial director would buy into your reasoning...Now if YOU were willing to loan us the 15M interest free we could talk. Go rich Bulls weird I am a finance major
  7. I believe debt repayment on our recent upgrades was highly dependent on projected income which is now off the table. I don't think we need to building anything when there is a chance the athletic department may be running on a deficit give our new revenue stream
  8. I'd love to hear what % of three star players fail appear in 40 college games or start 20 games or have one above-average season. I bet you its a lot higher than the % of Rivals top 100 players. I hate when people try to make the arguement that stars don't mean anything. The likelihood a 5-star winds up a better player 3-star is pretty high. That said, I know there are exceptions to the rule (Selvie etc.), but if you look at it realistically, this stars don't matter arguement is invalid.
  9. Thnk he got some good advice. Has some great tools but is very raw. It'll do him well to go somewhere, with no pressure, and sit and learn for a few years. He would've been thrown to the wolves at USF.
  10. Pretty much. Marquez Valdes is still out there I believe
  11. According to Scout and Rivals, he's already signed his LOI. Then I hope we can pull in either Valdes or Coley
  12. Also still in on Malik Brown, Marquez Valdes and Darius Tice.
  13. Heard some rumbling about possibly flipping Richard Benjamin
