Ucfs best team EVER beat our worst team EVER by 3 points in their own aluminum toy stadium that they couldn't even sell out.

How about more talk about of Orlando school has a better program than us?

Lol ok. Good job finally beating us. Can't wait until next season after we get more recruits.

no way

how can you justify building a stadium for  a tier 2 football program

and we stink too boot

there is no way such a cost could be justified

Over the past 15 or so years, these non-BCS programs (some moved up to BCS and then P5 Conferences), have all built new on-campus stadiums (and/or currently under construction) or virtually renovated their current stadiums:

1998: Louisville

1998: Utah

2000: SMU

2003: UCONN (off-campus)

2007: UCF

2009: Akron

2011: FAU

2011 North Texas

2014: Houston*

2014: Tulane*

*opening in 2014

In a strange way, USF being in  AAC might actually help get an on-campus stadium built...as since AAC won't be a P5 conf...USF might shoot for a 40,000 seat stadium (similar to Houston) that can easily be expandable if USF ever lands back into a P5 conf....as now the initial costs might be much lower vs if USF wanted to build a 50,000-55,000 seat stadium if they were still in a BCS/P5 conf.

All you have to do is look at most college stadium histories...most were built small and very basic...but upgraded over decades and decades...but the key is to get something built so students/alumni/fans/players can experience "on-campus football games" and then upgraded it over time when the fan base builds.

Well written, OP. Disregard smazzabot, he clearly didn't read your paragraph about winning.

I think it's time to start seriously planning. I'm sure they DO have a plan, but perhaps giving the fan base, whatever is left of it, the vision, will give them some faith.

I know they want to do it right. Whether it looks like Minnesota or Houston, I think we cap it at 48-50k. Put in a few niceties for the diehards who pay, throw in bleachers for the rest, esp the students. We've gone over details before, but I'm hoping they see the growing need for it.

I was fine with rjs for a long time but it's just wearing on me.

Shame on most of your fans though for not showing. I knew this could easily be the game ucf dropped and that the usf team would come to play. Usf has always done that. I wasnt sure if the usf offense eould be better than prior weeks, but I think white is starting to progress. Our defense is young and has injuries, but still held houston to 14. White looked good for his age. He will be good.

And where were your fans? Couldn't find 40K fans for a game against your supposed arch rivals with BCS bowl implications? We had more than that against Kansas years ago for an early season game that didn't matter much.

As I recall, the South Carolina game didn't sell out until a couple of days prior to the game.

I don't think this is a topic you should be crowing about.

No sh*&*

All these excuses I'm reading are just sad. Ucf has passed us but that happens in college football. Programs rise and fall. We currently stink and they're playing well enough to win games. No excuses, this year, they're a better team than USF.

Yeah that showed last night?...I will state this...in our wort year with a true freshman qb we almost beat them in the best year they have ever had...we will continue to bring in better talent and will be back in no short order...

Holy Spinjobs in here. UCF turned the ball over 5 times and still WON, that shows how good and resilient this UCF team is. This reminds me of your game at Notre Dame a few season ago where they turned it over 4-5 times with a few in the red zone just like UCF last night and you beat them. The overreaction here is just like after your Houston moral victory and looked what happened the next few weeks. Win more than 3 Conference games and then we'll see where USF goes in the future. Emotional Highs then crappy losses is your trend right now

UCF is the second youngest team in the FBS (behind South Carolina) and is 10-1 with a chance at a BCS Bowl. I'll take it, unless your in the top 3 style points are worthless, it is about winning your Conference

Where are you guys getting this "second youngest team" stuff from?  I'm curious because I tried some internet searches and the ones I found didn't even rank UCF as one of the top 25 youngest teams in the FBS.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”
