twitter is full of Lynch to USF posts. No confirmation from USF yet but that may be formality

Doesn't the coaching staff have to wait until he is enrolled to announce it? I think I remember them being quiet about D Scott until he was enrolled too.

Yes. It's a violation to talk about any recruit (or transfer) until they officially sign with the school

I thought they could mention them once they've committed, not necessarily signed.

Supposedly Justin Tuck is going to visit with Lynch and tell him what a mistake it would be for him to transfer out of ND. Tuck is in town as honorary captain of the spring game and Lynch's mother tweeted at him to stop by her son's room

Hopefully he didn't get to him in time, he's most likely on his way to Tampa.

Maybe we can have JPP tell him what a great idea it would be to transfer to USF.

Yeah, it worked out pretty well for him. LOL

Aaron must have sent Alice to the moon. :P

Greg Auman †@gregauman

Seems strange this is newsworthy, but looks like Aaron Lynch's outspoken mother Alice has deleted her Twitter account. Was at @alicelynch1

Sources: Aaron Lynch to USF

Updated: April 20, 2012, 11:21 AM ETBy Mark Schlabach | ESPN.com

SOUTH BEND, Ind. -- Former Notre Dame defensive end Aaron Lynch, who left the Fighting Irish football team earlier this month, requested to be released only to South Florida, sources close to the situation told ESPN.com on Friday.

Lynch, a sophomore from Cape Coral, Fla., is still enrolled in classes at Notre Dame this spring and intends to transfer to South Florida this summer, sources said. Lynch, 6-foot-6 and 270 pounds, was considered one of Notre Dame's most promising young players. He was named a freshman All-American by the Football Writers Association of America, after totaling 33 tackles, seven tackles for loss and 5 1/2 sacks in 2011.

Lynch is transferring to South Florida to be closer to his girlfriend, who attends school in Tampa, according to sources.

"You never want to lose a great player," Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said. "But if it's not the right fit, you want to find them the right fit."

Kelly said the emergence of sophomore Ishaq Williams this spring has helped lessen the blow of losing Lynch. The Fighting Irish also return junior nose guard Louis Nix III and senior end Kapron Lewis-Moore.

The Bulls are coached by Skip Holtz, the son of former Notre Dame coach Lou Holtz.

I like Kelly's response ... at least his public response.
