If we were in WVU shoes, we would do everything on our part to get out. I have no problem letting WVU go for the right price. I assume that the remaining football schools will be low key cause they will be gone as soon as a better situation arises. Let Providence and the basketball schools litigate.

$5 million AND 27 months. Going to be difficult to win a lawsuit there.

Classy bunch, WVU. On what basis could they possibly sue? Just because they now don't like the bylaws they agreed to?

"2007-08: WVU sues Rich Rodriguez for not upholding his contract; 2011: WVU sues the Big East so they don't have to uphold their contract."

Nice!!

You lawyers out there, help me out. How do you file suit when there has been no alleged breach of contract or illegal activity? I still say screw 'em but shouldn't WVU attorneys be contacting the BE to negotiate a buy out and waiver of the contract terms? What are they filing suit against? You don't file a suit to waive or exempt existing contract terms - correct?

"WVU suit against BE claims "lack of leadership, breach of fudiciary duties by the Big East and its commissioner."

So WVU is claiming that the Big East breached a fiduciary duty????

It should be USF suing for breached fiduciary duty not WVU.

We should all be suing the BE in that case because lack of leadership is pretty evident and breach of fiduciary duty sure feels like it could stick since we've gone from a weak AQ conference with aspirations to some crazy hodge-podge thing of potential also rans hoping against hope of keeping our AQ and the money that comes with it.

Having said that, WVU suing for this stuff is a total joke.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
