Nothing beats getting the top QB on your board. Also I thought UCF was going to totally out recruit us once they got in the BE with their On Campus Skillet? Looks like it hasn't stopped us from going right into their backyard and pulling D'Vo and Woulard......

It's a long ways from to the signing day for the class of 2013. That's a lot of time to hope a " spur-of-the-moment decision" to hold up. Most of the time they don't but hopefully for Skipper it does.

This wasn't a "spur of the moment decision" to come to USF. It was a spur of the moment decision to announce his very strong commitment right now. Like D'Vario and JT this has been planned for a long while. They wanted to go somewhere not too far from home but far away from the dreaded O'Leary. This guys are really tight and wanted to make an impact somewhere together. Glad they chose USF.

Tampa makes a lot of sense for Orlando kids. Get away from day to day of the parents, but still be within an easy drive. UCF has really been going backwards in recruiting lately. They had some good recruiting going for a couple of years but those assistants are gone.

I think O'Leary will be gone in a year or two and then we have to worry. It would really help us to get a leg up over the next season or two before they bring in a younger coach that will bring in a staff that hits recruiting harder.

It's hard not to like the momentum we are starting to build.

Nice to have a coach with his resume' going into a recruit's home! Also, this has to make our new signees feel pretty good about their decision.

why the trips if you're committed? hope he sticks, but Feb. is a long ways off

Same reason Bivins and others have gone on them. Free trips to different parts of the country that some recruits may never get the chance to go to. It's a no brainer if you think about it in the proper context.

He's been to Knoxville (UT) and was blown away with there campus and atmosphere. And I think he went to UF for a visit. But he's been in love with USF and Skip since this past summer.

You figure recruits are also going to be wary of UCF for a little while until this NCAA investigation is over with. They may still have bowl bans and scholly reductions in their future.

Yes, they got busted cheating. Money stopped flowing.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
