So, let me get this straight.  Some of you would actually prefer that a team other than USF win the Big East?

USF represent the Big East in its BCS game and LOSE = $$$$$$

Ask Uconn about that.

and OU. and WVU. and just about anybody that makes a BCS game these days. even AU and Oregon lost money going to the MNC game last year.

no way we would sell 17,500 tickets at $150 a piece.

This reminds me of the NCAA / NIT discussion a couple of years back.

Easy answer: our goal is always to win the BE Championship and go to the BCS Bowl Game.

I'd much rather USF go than any other team. End of story.

Similar ... but not really. If we go to a BCS bowl that means we won our conference which is a notable accomplishment even if we lose the bowl ...

Once TCU moves on over I doubt we will have an issue with losing our BCS game...

In those two scenarios, I support USF first and therefore would pick USF winning the BE, and losing in a BCS bowl game.  I only support the BE because USF is currently in the BE.  I didn't support the BE b/f USF was a member.  I am loyal to my school first.

Go Bulls!

The pub for USF would be bigger than what you saw with Uconn as writers would have a story line of something like, "Is USF finally taking the step to become the next Miami?"  Which we all know dominated this conference and used it as a spring board to many great seasons/titles.

Everyone knows that it's only a matter of time before USF becomes an annual top 25 and then top 10 program being in the position that it is in with it's size, geographic positioning etc.  We've got a mega high ceiling vs. someone like Uconn so just "being there" will have a much bigger impact for us as a program so even if we lose, we win if that makes sense.

well, what type of loss are we talking about here?

No, a BCS game is insanely important to building this program. Have to take that.

I remember a similar question being asked back in 2005 against Louisville.

Also, the BE champ most likely will play in the Orange Bowl against the ACC champ (provided the ACC champ does not end up in the Championship game  :D ).  Given that we are 7-3 against the ACC since joining the BE I wouldn't chalk that up as a loss just yet.
