That fence is too close to the field - eventually somebody's going to over-run a route, or try to run down an errant pass, and do a face-and-body-plant into that fence.

That thing is a lawsuit waiting to happen - if they don't have plans to pad it whenever the field's in use, they should take it down.

Trust me, I've been down there and there is plenty of room. There's more room than if they ran into the sideline benches during a game.

With most college football practice fields, there is a covering over the fences to prevent filming/scouting by opponents, so there will probably be some sort of covering that could also serve as padding in the event that there is a collision.
