This remind me of Charlie Ward and Bobby Bowden. Bobby was the only one in his corner after Charlie was stinking the joint up for a half season. Now Charlie Ward is considered one of the best QB in FSU's history. Now saying that, BJ will have 7 games to improve or the spring will be an open QB battle.

In retrospect, we were doomed to lose on Saturday and will lose at least a few more until someone makes the hard choice at QB.  This staff is hamstrung to start BJ and ride him to mulitple losses due to: accolades about BJ preseason, lack of a true #2 QB, fans expectations that only with BJ can we win, BJ's own sick athletic abilities, the players they had when they arrived, etc.

One only needs to read the threads on this site where clearly 50+% think only with BJ can we win, therefore if they start someone else and we lose, well that's the reason we lost.  Hence, we'll ride this losing recipe for at least another two or three games before the plug is finally pulled.  Unfortunately, the staff has been dealt this hand and they have to play it this way, folding now is not an option. If we had a true #2 or even a true #3, that's who would have come in and who would be starting on Thursday.  We don't, therefore we are doomed to lose at least two or three more games before the plug is pulled.  Unfortunately, that kills our season and we will not be bowling.

Unless of course BJ all of the sudden has an epiphany and suddenly learns how to be a field general and passer.   I don't know about you, but I won't be holding my breath for that one.

Skip Holtz is not going to continue starting BJ Daniels because of pressure from the fan base. Skip Holtz is going to continue starting BJ Daniels is the sensible thing to do. Unless, of course, Holtz sees something in practice that leads him to believe Gunsby or Eveld or someone else entirely would be a better choice. But everything we who aren't on the coaching staff have to judge by suggests the team's best bet is get Daniels to stop making such stupid plays.

Ding Ding Ding we have a winner!!!!  I trust Skip to make the right call and the fact that we haven't seen either of the two back ups should tell you a whole helluva a lot about the confidence the staff has in them.  The scary part is things could actually be WORSE than they are at the QB spot, imagine having a QB with far less mobility and the same small amount of experience behind the offensive line we have......If we had someone that the staff felt would give us a better chance of winning we would have seen them by now so fans really need to ask themselves is change just for the sake of change really that much better?  Would you feel better with Eveld or Gunsby back there and still getting the same results?  We have zero evidence that either one of them will give us anything more than what we have seen out of BJ.  Lets not forget BJ was struggling in camp too and neither of those guys could do enough to even challenge him during that time, so have they made a huge leap in practice post camp that you have some super secret source telling you that?  If not, then your expectations should be that of what reality and all evidence points to, going to them would be a downgrade at the QB spot, unless the staff is not playing the best player for some unforeseen reason.....

There is no ROI in burning Gunby's red shirt...

+1

I firmly believe Holtz is trying to build the program and not sacrifice that goal for one season, when chances are Gunsby would similar results.  If Holtz thought Gunsby could salvage the season, I'm certain he'd have him playing,

Everyone is calling for BJD to be replaced but lets face it. He is the most talented QB we have at the moment. I for one have a bigger issue with Holtz not letting Mo sit the bench more and let the more talented running backs play. They say he knows his assignments better well, one assignment he doesn’t know is how to average more yards/carry than Murray or Shaw. I get that he is a better blocker so put him in there when we need the running back to block. Don’t give me the ball 20 times a game for him to stumble  and have his head down before he even gets to the line of scrimmage.  The stats don’t lie. He is at best the 3rd best back.

Get Sterling and AJ Love healthy!

And have BJ watch a lot of film this week on reading coverage and looking for all receivers open!

BJ sucked really bad, but he is and will be our QB for the rest of the year. Time to work with what we got, maybe he runs a lil more this year than planned...

Yeah and you two haven't said squat to contradict what I wrote.  We play games to win .........not just to compete.  We are losing except against the absolute dregs of CFB.  We will not win another game if BJ cannot do what he hasn't been able to do this season................pass effectively.  That has nothing to do right now with the offensive line, receivers, running backs, backup QB's, and especially the defense.

First, it was that we had horrible receivers but once they were back things would change. Now I see that the BP apologists are throwing the offensive line under the bus and even the defense.  Beautiful, one guys failure at execution becomes a new groups failure every other game.  Forget the fact that when the opposing team realizes if they load the box and blitz, that BJ is incapable of finding the mismatch or the open receiver......it's the offensive lines fault now.

Could it be worse? Sure, we could have lost against the cupcakes but is that supposed be some great consolation?  The fact that BJ has been quarterback when we've beaten these twinkies should mean what it's worth, absolutely nothing.  He's only looked good against Stony Brook and has looked terrible (sans the first quarter against UF) ever since.

Who do we throw on the sacrificial alter after WVU?  Special teams? Defense? Coaching staff?  Who's next in line?

Whoever stinks up the place like BJ has for the better part of the first half of the season. Hopefully, that wont be an issue and we can save the pitchforks for BJ.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
