Your other QB options are:

-Landi, who has been a WR for the past two years

-Eveld, Walk-on true freshman with little experience

-Gunsby, True freshman with less experience than the guy who walked on.

Who would you choose??

Obviously Eveld because he's tall, has thrown some "pretty" incompletions, and is a pocket passer!!!!!

A pocket passer behind that rickety line better carry a lot of insurance.

No, no, no, don't you understand!!! Because hes a tall pocket passer that means he immediately has the ability to get up to the line identify the blitz, check out of plays, never miss a open WR in his progressions, and deliver deadly accurate darts that only hit his WR's in stride!!! When you are a tall pocket passer experience and insurance are completely irrelevant!!!  We are so lucky that we are the only school that identified Mr. Eveld's immense talent now we just need to get him on the field as a walk on true freshman since doing so has such a good track record for QBs!

Hey-if our season is going down the ****ter anyway-does it matter what turd we ride?

While Saturday was abysmal, it's still too early to say the season is shot.

We don't need a knee jerk reaction and do something stupid like this...half of this board would want the coaching staff and athletic office fired for losing out during the seasonand putting in a QB with no experience.

With Danels we have at least a "better" (key word) chance at winning then with the other 2.

FWIW, Landi split time last year at QB/WR, then when Grothe went down, he spent quite a but of time at QB...and didn't get back on the field at WR. So, he hasn't been at WR for 2 seasons. Didn't he play QB in the spring game and out shine BJ?

I'd go with Gunsby though.

In retrospect, we were doomed to lose on Saturday and will lose at least a few more until someone makes the hard choice at QB.  This staff is hamstrung to start BJ and ride him to mulitple losses due to: accolades about BJ preseason, lack of a true #2 QB, fans expectations that only with BJ can we win, BJ's own sick athletic abilities, the players they had when they arrived, etc.

One only needs to read the threads on this site where clearly 50+% think only with BJ can we win, therefore if they start someone else and we lose, well that's the reason we lost.  Hence, we'll ride this losing recipe for at least another two or three games before the plug is finally pulled.  Unfortunately, the staff has been dealt this hand and they have to play it this way, folding now is not an option. If we had a true #2 or even a true #3, that's who would have come in and who would be starting on Thursday.  We don't, therefore we are doomed to lose at least two or three more games before the plug is pulled.  Unfortunately, that kills our season and we will not be bowling.

Unless of course BJ all of the sudden has an epiphany and suddenly learns how to be a field general and passer.  I don't know about you, but I won't be holding my breath for that one.

Skip Holtz is not going to continue starting BJ Daniels because of pressure from the fan base. Skip Holtz is going to continue starting BJ Daniels is the sensible thing to do. Unless, of course, Holtz sees something in practice that leads him to believe Gunsby or Eveld or someone else entirely would be a better choice. But everything we who aren't on the coaching staff have to judge by suggests the team's best bet is get Daniels to stop making such stupid plays.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
