Again 94, before they took the lead we ran the ball 9 times in the second half compared to four passes. Then they took the lead.

After which we threw a pass, was "sacked" on a Daniels scramble, an ran on a run pass option. We then punted.

We get the ball back with about 3:30 left and throw it 5 times.

USF attempted to do nothing but run and throw safe passes all game.

Syracuse contained BJ, they held our running game to 95 yards on 37 carries.

Take away BJ and they held our backs In check too.

It was just a bad game. Plain and simple. Seven of those 27 pass plays came really late in the game.

BJ threw a pick on first down from their 31 yard line near the end zone. that's not a "safe" pass play or "safe' play at all. that's a dumb play call when you have an inconsistent QB. His other pick came within field goal range. that's not playing it safe in a close game.

I agree it was a bad game. a game that we could have won even though we couldn't run the ball well.

I just watched Holtz' press conference and I find it disgraceful that a 45 year old man who gets paid $1.7M can stand there and blame a loss on a 20 year old kid that was asked to do something he's not good at. we lost by 4 not 40. there is no reason why they should have called 27 pass plays. He didn't take any of the blame himself. that's what great coaches do, they take the heat for a loss whether or not it was their fault. He should have said we need to put him in a better position to succeed.

I'll give you the last 6 but they called a pass play on first down inside their 40 4 times(3 different times) out of the 6 times we were there. That's moronic with our personnel in a close game.

the colts beat the chiefs this week. They threw the ball 44 times even though Manning had no TDs and a pick. His QB rating was 65. It still gave them the best chance to win even if it was an ugly game.

I can almost live with the # of passes, but it was the type of passes.  Actually it seemed in the second half it was all the same passes, deep to Bogan or Bravo-Brown on the wide side.  We tried that on first and then settled in for 2d and 10.  Maybe BJ can't throw anything else, or just as likely, the coaches are scared to allow him to throw anywhere short and near the middle because of turnovers.

that hurt as much as anything.

they called 9 pass plays on first down.

2 of them were at the end of the game so those are understandable but 7 of them and 4 inside their 40 yard line is ridiculous for our personnel.

Of the 4 inside their 40 , 2 were incomplete, one resulted in a sack and eventual missed field goal and one was a pick.

The other pick on 3rd and 6 also included an incomplete pass on first down leaving us with 2nd and 10.

that puts our offense in a hole. 2nd and 10 for us is deadly.

problem is that Cuse put llike 17 guys on the line and sold out for the pass.  It is really hard to run and they have watched our game film this year and know - like all the BE knows - load the line and make them pass.

Exactly dabull. It's what Florida did, and it's what every team is going to do from here on out.

Unlike Florida, Cuse did a great job stopping BJ legs.
