Nicholas was named to the watch list each of the last three years as I recall.

He has not had "moments" on film for the nation to see.

BULLieve this will help in USF's favor ... especially when we play pitt.

Snake will have something to prove!!!

he'll just have to prove that he's one of the best as he finishes the year with 20 more sacks and 100 more tackles.  ;D

don't forget-- he was a Freshamn All American

I didn't expect him to get in the top ten finalist for one main reason-- production. His stats are not eye-popping and that along with the no-name school perception USF has sunk his chances.

He'd have to play 1 and 1/2 times better than any other LB in the current grouping.  Face it, USF won't get the national attention like a Ohio State or Texas player.  Just facts.

Unfortunately that's the truth.  Those are all great players but Stephen Nicholas deserves mention among them if you break it down to a pure statistical comparison.  But you've got to absolutely drop the judges jaw when you play for schools like USF.

It's unfortunate because right now i would lay Nicholas' season and career stats against any of those guys and he would be right in the mix.

53 tackles on the season, 6tfl, 2 sacks, 1 int, 6 QBH...and ET has shown his career stats which are equally as eye-popping.  I do believe his stats are eye-popping.  Paul Posluzny for instance has half the number of tfl that Nicholas has for his career...he was the winner last year.

I also don't know about the KU game Doug is talking about either.  Nicholas was a maniac in Lawrence, 15 tackles, 2 tfl, 1 pbu.

I believe he ends up getting drafted ahead of some of those guys on the list.

The DL is getting better, but the LBs have had more linemen on them than last year.

Don't worry, the pros know who he is and will drafted before the end of the third round and starting on Sunday's next year. St. Louis may very well be in the same boat.

look at it this way-- how often does the Heisman winner end up being totally useless in the NFL? Why would this award be all that much different? It's not like LB recruits don't know who will be coaching them here at USF, we'll get our share and SN will show them what they missed.

I thought Snake had something like 10 or 15 tackles in Lawrence??  He had zero against UCF.

Double Doh!  UCF not KU and Lawrence not Manhattan...what dufus that BullDope is.

I seem to remember a whole lot of Bulls fans saying that about one Andre Hall last year.
