  1. This is a fact....when pressed in meetings over the last week Skip's desire was to push back on USF claiming he was not given enough to be successful. I don't know if he flat out said he wanted 'out'...but it was spun in a manner that both sides agreed to disagree.
  2. They lost it 3 weeks ago when players and coaches got in a heated shouting exchange in the locker room at halftime of Miami. Now there is absolutely no respect....but Skip never had good control of his sidelines in the first place. Again a man that is not a stickler about details. It's the small details that good coaches win with...Skip's a delegator, a big picture, macro level guy. He might survive at a big school with zillions of dollars to help him overcome deficiencies, or small schools were things are not big, but here.....he's got no handle on anything including his players, locker rooms, and sidelines.
  3. If he resigns he will forfeit his contract and not receive any more money. Why not wait to get fired and receive the $2.5M buyout? The only way he resigns is if he is pursing another job. If true, there was probably some settlement for him to resign vs. being fired that would cost USF less money. yes...allows him to save face, and get a lump sum now....win-win.
  4. It's more than just a knee injury. OMG has growth issues, and they've already operated to remove something from his pituitary gland....he's about 40lbs+ bigger then he should be for a guy his size. Not his fault though, it's hormones, but his knees can not take that extra weight. Seriously he probably needs to redshirt, and work on getting his health in order. The fact he's out there battling with the team tells you what kind of kid he is. BTW, I now see what Mike Jarvis has been saying about White- called him soft. Like someone said the package looks good when he walks through the door, but when he steps on the court it's bad. Bad hands, bad court awareness, soft, not physical....he's strictly a big body, and if Austin had been around he would have been perfect for fluff minutes...now we count on him and it can be painful at times.
  5. What does that mean? They're in the midst of television negotiations with Big East that will probably garner a considerable increase in television revenue. They get sizable donations for football yearly from thousands of donors. They make enough money to care....this is football they have to care. How the message is delivered is one thing, but USF has to care because their budget is balanced based on the revenue secured by football.
  6. Actually to have any shot to get an ACC or B12 consideration firing Skip is a must. What type of message do you think it sends to these conference if we stand pat with a 3-9 record, and 2 year conference record of 2-12. For goodness sakes NCST fired O'brien for a 7-5 record. If we keep Holtz after next week we've essentially sent a message around the world that were complacent and satisfied with our football circumstances. Regardless with how they try to spin it after the fact. These conferences are only interested in football prowess, and television markets. We've got the tv market...now it's time to show that we care how our football program does. BTW, this doesn't mean I am advocating calling the White House or anything.
  7. I suspect we'd have had a better season if we played on;y freshmen and sophmores We're doing that now are were not even competitive against a Cinci team that was struggling with injuries and talent issues. Playing kids just because the seniors have given up on you as a HC is not a reason to play youth. The program is in a spiral. The upperclassmen don't have any faith, and no longer respond to the coaching. It's only a matter of time before the youth does that as well.
  8. Two recruits do not make a program....one is on his second ACL tear in a year. Skip's recruiting has been atrocious by most standards...ignoring regions, focusing only on what certain coordinators want to concentrate on and not what the program should be doing. What about Miami....I think our staff now believes that is a foreign country. Price was a nice snag...but there are to many circumstances where they went with size over substance. We once recruited guys to fit in a system...speed and athleticism were at a premium. We now take guys that simply check off a box, some who they don't even see in person, and then leave them buried on a depth chart. I feel for a guy like Scott, who was once sent by Leavitt to close on certain kids and he did....now he must fight with some coordinators and coaches just to look at some recruits. And god forbid they move a player to a position where they can be more conducive to their talents. Any day they want to decide to move Gonzalez to safety, and Garye to LB, and Perry to TE, would be great. They'll never fit in the positions they're buried at right now. I could go on and on about recruiting...don't ever claim Skip can recruit or he's a pretty good recruiter because he signed Price. How about telling him to look at JUCO's that are not spring enrollees but are more talented one day. Instead he brings in these inferior juco's simply because they'll enroll in the spring. Don't get me started.
  9. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yHh4XVIVzAM I really have trouble not laughing everytime I see the chain link fence that surrounds the fields and the stands. I mean can it get any tackier? And the way the fans are acting the administration may want to consider putting barbed wire above the fence line..
  10. BTW, I was going to come on here and congratulate UCF on their win...but I found as usual no one is better at congratulating UCF, then UCF fans themselves. :
  11. Well lets see. 2 private catholic colleges, that are 0-2. Sounds pretty similar. this is what makes UCF fans so ridiculously pathetic. Who cares? Who really cares!!! UCF had a nice win tonight, and all that even the more cogent of UCF posters like yourself want to do is compare your win to ours? To debate the semantics about 'whos better'....Really? USF is like 14-6 against non-conference BCS opponents since 2006...we don't need to compare anymore. I'd hope you would enjoy this win instead of trying to figure out how it compares to USF.
  12. I'm pretty sure we're all aware of our conference records. I guess your fans are well aware of your record against USF on the football field since they won't want to start a thread about that. The C-USA we played in was much tougher than what you have to contend with. Case in point, ECU has won just as many Conference Titles as UCF and we have beaten them every time we've played them (guess UCF should know about that in regard to USF). Hard to even debate with ignorant people with inferiority complexes. They always glean on the most mundane, and asinine point or reference...that albeit doesn't prove their point at least makes them feel better. USF is 4-0 against those jack-holes, we're 14-3 against FL teams (yes I am counting victories against FAMU and Miami this year) since 2000. They're 1-8 and their sole victory was a last second thriller against FAU. Since 2005 USF is 6-0 against C-DOA teams, wheras UCF is 0-7 against Big East teams. USF's average margin of victory in that time was 21+ppg, whereas UCF's average margin of loss was approximately 25ppg. In that time UCF faced six of the seven were bowl contenders, USF five out of six. Twice USF beat UCF when they were either a division champ or the outright winner of the conference. At this point is there any question who's had the better team the past 6-7 years? Really? FIU has won a Sunbelt conference champ too but they're not ignorant enough to brag to us about it. It's the real life equivalent of a jv team bragging to the varsity because they won jv districts and varsity did not. Really? Fixed before Chad fixates on the typo in an attempt to deflect from reality. Thanks ;D Good catch. I read it too but no modify on this thread didn't allow me to change my typo.

  14. Its the same fellow. It's just typical NCAA taking their time. The news a few months ago was just that the NCAA got wind of it and stating they will look into it Now they are actually sending UCF an official notice. Means they must have found something... and its definitely not good since they are still under probation The NCAA supposedly at any one given time can have over 100 investigations on-going I read once. Many minor, some major, some baseless. The NCAA makes it a priority to investigate any credible lead, and many times they lead to nothing and the NCAA never sends anything to a school. When the NCAA sends a letter like the one they sent to UCF it means they've found something, it's credible, and it's for both football and men's hoops. They're now giving UCF a chance to respond. But if you read Caldwell's newspaper interview he was made because he was the 'last person' the NCAA called. They've spoken to at least dozens of HS coaches, players, and families already regarding UCF. They already know that Caldwell's son was suddenly given a tutoring position in the athletic office that last fall, they know Caldwell didn't originally know a lot of these kids....and BTW, if Caldwell's son is an employee of UCF, and Caldwell is speaking to athletes, he didn't know previously, about UCF. That is an automatic violation. A UCF fan can spin it that Forde and Pitino were jealous, but the fact is that is a violation. Schools turn other schools in all the time for violations so why is it a shock to them.
  15. So you two believe that the way you govern this website will in some way teach USF fans a modicum of respect? : Really? Seems Triple and 26 are taking their job of moderator a little to seriously. This is news, news deserves it's own thread no matter how irrelevant YOU think it may be. ??? Who cares what they say, it won't change, and you won't change what we say, but it's news. I'm sure any constructive criticism you have would be most appreciated by our Complaint Dept Yeah sure that will help.... : You are getting to over-bearing when the reason behind such a decision is 'we're trying to rise above UCF fans'. Get a grip and recognize this site and these posts have nothing to do with real life...but happy for your service. : I'll make sure to run any posts by you and the posting police first to decide if relevant and where it should go. :Bang

  17. That is pretty ridiculous. UCF cops are pretty hardcore. Always drove the speed limit, not a MPH over. Windows down (my tint was dark), stereo down or off. Stop at every stop sign for a good 1-2-3 count. They'll measure at night. Dark tint is even darker looking at night. The tool they use just clips over the glass. I'm pro-LEO, but most university police like to generate revenue so they will give everything a good look. I've got to come down on the officers' side when it comes to the front window tint, based strictly on their need for safety ... They should be able to see what's going on with little obstruction ... and I didn't read the article ... was it Godfrey or Smith? Come on Triple this deserves it's own thread. This is far more than the normal D measuring of USF/UCF Mindless Drivel. This is a real incident, a kid that is their star QB arrested now twice in 6 months for the same incident. They completely hammered us for the same stuff on Ford and Brian Fisher. Burying it on this thread doesn't serve it justice.
  18. But I do appreciate Tribune, and Times officials reaching out to Big East officials to alert them to what is going on. : : With friends like that who needs enemies. :-\
  19. I think you hit it on the head about whether Jarvis was ever at UL. He was suppose to transfer in to UL this January, but he never participated in spring ball, was never included on the roster, and suddenly rumor swirled that he left UL in June. But no actual confirmation that he ever attended a class at UL. That's the bigger question first. Lots of guys 'want to' transfer but never make it in. UL had a scholarship crunch in this last class. They signed 29 in their 2010 class, and 23 in 2011 and that was suppose to put them over...and that never included Giles. I wonder if Giles got word from UL that he wasn't going to get a schollie and then left there before enrolling.
  20. Were you scared to click on the link or what?? He must be. I'm sure he doesn't realize that it was a video with those words coming directly out of Smith's mouth. Wow! :jawdropper What he said on that video has to have any UCiF fan shaking. They're moronic to bring this kid in but it all plays along with O'Liar's nasty temperament. As a curmudgeon he couldn't let this kid get the better of him...but it's pretty clear the kid is singing like a canary, and he 'can't comment' because there is an investigation behind it. WE'LL ALL see what happens but there is no way this ends nicely for UCF.
  21. rumors are USCalifornia has just enter the mix too. Mikey wants to big time folks.
  22. Greg Auman has a story on that: http://www.tampabay.com/blogs/bulls/content/former-gators-rb-blakely-visiting-usf-holtz-today Great reporting, this could be a great get. I am a little surprised he would even consider UCF, especially when he originally wouldn't even look at a school outside of the SEC, let alone outside the BCS. Why would you be suprised no one in the state pays better than UCF. I believe O'Liar is getting into the twilight of his career and figures he can't take it all with him so why not spread the wealth a bit. I am sure it's raining fifties in Manatee and O'Liar is God.
  23. I like Alan, but not his best story. Hard to really get the point of it even at the end. But I do believe he is trying to tell Blakely that he needs to stop worrying or looking for the big opportunities elsewhere that right here in Tampa is a coach who's done wonders with unwanted, and unheralded players.
  24. True but we can never count out UCF these days, you never know who they're going to pay to convince the kid to come there. I am sure O'Liar is running around Manatee and greasing quite a few wheels to try and get Blakely to Oviedo. ;D Hello, are there bulls fans alive on this board or are you all to afraid of the triple police, or does UCF jabbing only work on that other, very scary board?
