I am the LAST person that will ever get thrown out of a stadium, trust me. I respect the police and am usually the one who's settling down the rowdy ones. That being said, the situation you bring up was ridiculous.

The woman cop had her eye on us the WHOLE game. Even coming up to me, while I was eating my peanuts, and telling me that if ONE shell goes over the wall, I'm going to jail. I looked down, and saw ONE shell on the field, and my words to her were as follows: "Ok, and when you see me throw ONE shell onto the field, you let me know. I got 100 of em right here....AT-MY-FEET. Thanks."

She threw the big guy (Chris) out becuase he was sitting on the rail. Nevermind that the ENTIRE game, we lean over, bang on the wall, and all that kind of stuff. Chris then moved off the actual railing, and onto the wall. Apparently that is now illegal was well.

AND TO MAKE THINGS WORSE....

Steve, the guy sitting on the aisle, had to move to get out of the way of the cops. In doing so, he pressed his back agaisnt the wall, essentially doing was Chris was doing - leaning against the wall, back to the field - and they told Steve that he was next if he didnt move.

WTF!?!?!!!!

You know it's funny, when our normal cop, I believe his name is Cleveland, came over we had nothing but love for him and he shook all of our hands. Amazing what can happen when you show respect, you get it back.

This is a major issue that must be addressed by the all aspects of the University and law enforcement. I feel most of this stems from the USF-Louisville game last year. Law enforcement has shown little trust in the USF fan base, perticularly the students, which I feel has lead to a lack of respect for the law enforcment officials. The issue is about respect and trust. It's a two way street. I fear this might escalate as USF gets better and better and bigger games come to town.

Imagine if we have a chance to win the big eat out right at home......I could honestly see a student Vs police riot breaking out becaues who wouldnt want to be on the field for the school's fist Be championship and clinching a spot in a BCS bowl.  Then again im sure the glazers would pay to have all tampa area riot police at said game if it were to happen to curb the students from even contemplating bieng on the field.

I have sent my concerns to Student Government hoping that this is addressed. I am planning on writing a letter to the Oracle as well.

I hope everyone else lets their voice be heard.

This is crazy. I only say one guy "escorted" out tonight by 3-4 officers within the first 10 minutes of the game. I have no idea what he did so maybe he deserved it. But the police have been out in force for the games. I don't know what is going to happen when we are whipping up on Pitt and 'cuse.  ;D

If we want change then we need to do what that board member did, and call in the Sheriiff's department and report any abuses that you witnessed.  That is the only way.  Call in even if you don't have any information on the officers; if they start receiving multiple calls about inicidents they might tone it down some.

Just be happy they didnt organize another Death Squad and put 68 bullets in them. Its thier world and they allow us to live in it, dont rock the boat or they will taser up.

i'm usually not one to complain because i know how students can act...( i was one 2 years ago)

however, i hope someone presses charges against this one specific cop tonight.  it was section 243 i think.  the cops were out of control tonight.  ok...yea there was probably a fight and a few kids acting stupid...but they threw one kid up against the glass and while his neck was against the glass 2 cops jumped on his back.  i am suprised the kid didnt have a broken neck.  and then after that....any student that yelled at the cops for their misbehavior was grabbed and drug out of the game.  i wish i had a camera for it.  i hope one of those kids has a high powered parent with a good lawyer.

Some USF Students should start bringing in VIDEO Cameras to games!!

Just have an "innocent" looking USF Student...about 5-6 rows from the front row...and to the side of sections where the Cops are harrassing students.

(Better yet...call/email one of the local TV reporters who try and help out individuals with problems about getting "ripped off". This would qualify!!)

Without any VIDEO evidence...the rough treatment will only continue and get worse.

Cops should have 2 simple rules in the USF student sections:

1) Don't throw anything on the field

2) Don't run on the field

(Everything else...standing, cheering, turning around, etc...should be fair game...because its COLLEGE!!!)

Good luck.

KL

PS. Maybe some students should "wear a wire"? Also..remember, Cell phones have voice recorders (some have video) too.

If all else fails...time to give this guy a call:

Well...since non of the USF students killed a deputy and shot another...I don't think they had to worry about that.

Kill a local cop/deputy/trooper...shot another...and don't turn yourself in?

Sorry...no empathy for a scum like that.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
