Not at all.  CAAR is molding men, not quitters. Not selfish primadonnas.  If he gave them the option, it's because he knew what they would say.  CAAR is a leader, not a weak willed, child-pleaser.  I am sure they will learn the value of finishing the race.

All part of the process of molding them.

The problem is the transfer portal opens today.  So if a coach is trying to change over his roster or enough players want out, it creates a problem.   Pitino said as much when they declined the bid.   It makes more sense (to him) to start preparing for next season.

It's ridiculous that it can't wait until after the tournaments are over.

That's an issue I heard discussed yesterday too.  Just more lack of sense and awareness by the NCAA.

I'm guessing the teams in the real tournament are coping just fine.

I'm pretty sure most of the posters on this board would have been thrilled if they were told that this team would reach the NIT after we started 2-4.

Exactly. I'm one of the more negative Nellys on this board but, dang, I'm happy with this season.

The portal really shouldnt be open until all tournaments are done. (early April).  Until that changes, the opt outs will still happen.

34 nonP6 teams made the NCAA Championship tourney.  I'd say that's valuing "mid" majors.

NIT instituted some new stupid rules related to P6 teams that resulted in a team like ucf getting in and getting a home game.   Still, we're in the NIT and if we are half as deserving as many on here are claiming then we should have not problem going there and winning the game in their arena

Let me know the next time the CFP has half of it's field nonP5/P4 teams

Yes, while disappointing its not a home game at the same time we are playing a team that finished in the bottom half of their conference. By all means this should be seen as a favorable matchup for us.

Lets just go out and win this one, and perhaps send a message to the Big 12 that we might add value to the league next time when they add teams.

The Portal opening today is wild. I’d hate to be a coach in today’s environment.

That’s ******* crazy …… the things you notice when you actually pay attention to college basketball this time of year.
