Are we going to ask the Univeristy of Florida to change their name since there are more public universities?

ARe we going to ask Florida State University to change their name since they are more public universities?

Are we going to Ask Miami Hurriances to change their name since FIU is in Miami?

The answer is no. Don't change tradition and ruin it.

This is pretty stupid to even consider it.

I call it USF when I’m Tampa or with friends, family in the area.  However I call it South Florida everywhere else.  Locally people know it as USF, nationally we are South Florida, that is if they know us at all.

I'm glad we didn't become an extension of UF, so we could have been UFATT - University of Florida at Temple Terrace.

I know the USF media puts out "South Florida". I was wondering the reason for the rebrand.

Is it going back to our roots? Or is it to make our name fully stand out (prevent being called "Southern" Florida?)
