He has no post play and no scoring from his PG, so he basically only has three players on the floor who are a threat.

Gonna be a frustrating year for Jose. If they’re not making threes, they don’t have much going. There’s zero in the post and although Wilson is a great defender, they can’t afford to have her on the floor this much when they don’t really have many offensive options. Feels to me like he needs to commit to Marina at PG and just ride with it.

So unUSF-like team. They take bad shots, make silly passes, miss layups, etc. not stuff we’re used to seeing from Jose’s teams. It has to be killing him.

To be fair, Charlotte is not exactly a terrible team.

No, they aren’t, but . . . honestly, our season comes down to four days in March anyway. Need to be peaking then.

The writing was on the wall early on that this would be a transition year, Jose said it himself before the season even started. Hoping Jose can make the needed adjustments to remain competitive

It also doesn't help that Johansson has been hurt and still seems to be recovering or is rusty. And losing Sammie speaks for itself.

Romi is stepping up big time, but she sort of cooled off in the second half tonight.

Carla was making more mistakes tonight than I've seen from her, but she never quit and made several key plays on defense.

On to the next game...

Jose gets a pass.  This team is probably his worst in the last 10 years, but he's had the best program overall at USF and it's not even close.

I've said it before, any conference win this year will be a good win. Ariel is such a top notch defender and handles the ball well. But without the threat of her scoring it makes it difficult on the offensive end. Can only remember 2 shots, a 3 that spun around and missed and an awkward layup attempt. Not sure if Marina scored in the short time that she played. But the difference in defense played by the two of them must be enough for CJF to keep Ariel in there almost the entire game. The center had such a different game from the last game. And as much as I love Carla she really struggled tonight. But Dani didn't do a ton while she was in there either. Both of them are undersized for their positions. Coach leans on the them for good defense but both are erratic scoring the ball. Hopefully Emma heals up and can spell Evelien (sp?). She sas gassed after regulation and he had to put Emma in for a minute or 2.  Never can question the effort, just the execution.

Wilson just dribbles around the court in circles, considering she’s a tall point guard at 5’10 she should be driving in all these smaller guards. She’s been playing college basketball for 5 years I’m surprised she hasn’t perfected something offensively in that time.

I think Sammie would have been our only hope.I’m not really to sure she’s great at getting her own shot, but she would be the best player on the team if she was on the court.

Jose has always had a go to player that closes the game or makes the crucial shot. Not this year though.
