Wonder what this means for a few things:

-Is it still going to be a 300-350 million dollar project or are they dropping the price to get it done quicker

-Is 2026 still the target date and they want to be sure they are just starting it sooner so it'll still be ready then in case of delays? Is 2026 still the target date and the scope of the project has increased? Are they moving the target date up to 2025?

Break ground late next year gives a target complete date of end of 2025 season.  That gives them an 8+ month cushion for overrun to open for 2026.
more interesting is that he said funds were marked for the stadium.
Sounds like for once USF is going to do something and not worry about any perceived roadblocks.

Maybe they use this line of thinking when it comes to athlete admissions requirements. Get a few exceptions for partial qualifiers to bump up the talent level.

It means they're gonna bust their butts and get it done just in time for us to host the conference championship at our brand new stadium at the end of 2025. First game in the new stadium is the conference championship that vaults us into the playoff.

Disclaimer: I have no inside knowledge that this will be the case and instead am rambling off on a fan's pipedream.

The pipedreams will become reality.  We may need some kind of shirt with impossible-never-going-to-happen things being crossed off the list for USF.  To wear for the OCS opening.

Looking through Populous's website its so exciting to think what they may cook up for us. They just built this MLS stadium in cincy for 250 million last year so shade is definitely on the table

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
