We don’t know who our next coach or how many players will be will transfer out, but our schedule (once decided out of the pool of teams below) is not as daunting as it has been these past 5 years. I’m definitely not claiming “undefeated” with Alabama on the schedule, but this is a good schedule for a new coach to start off with. We definitely need to hit the transfer portal. I am a bit happy with the players graduating (except for Demontrey Jacobs, Grier and Boyles) because now we have some room for some new blood on this team. It would be nice if Grier and Jennings come back next year with a medical redshirt, but I doubt they stay and will probably transfer to a P5 school for their last season.  Anyways, the rest of this year needs to be used as an evaluation for our current players.

You are happy with those graduating seniors?  There is most of our talent on that list.

Whoever the next OL coach is is gonna have their work cut out for them for sure. I know we all think highly of what Coach Mogridge has done here, but he also has an extremely experienced unit to work with.

That said, in this scenario we would still have most of the rest of the offensive talent. I would certainly be worried about the defense with some of the talent that would be graduating, but I'm already concerned with them anyway so 🤷‍♂️

You assume we will get recruits talented enough to immediately contribute on defense?   It's not like Scott was holding out good players to play the seniors instead.   I really want to drink the cool aid that this will be a quick turnaround.  I'm still not sure how some are saying "we have the talent" to win when we've been terrible for 3 seasons.

It all depends on our next coach but the schedule is easier. The issue is the recruiting classes have been trending down and our best players will probbaly transfer if we don't hit a home run hire. I will wait to pass judgement until we know more about the coach  to be named at a later date. I agree it is good to get the seniors out of here and start with new blood. Some will be missed more than others and i wish them all the best on their next step  in life .

There aren't a whole lot of teams we can beat on that list right now.  Even UConn is 5-5 with 4 fbs wins.  Depending on who the new coach is, 2-10 might be a great year.

Correct.  Charlotte and FAMU might be the only two teams we would be favored against.  Might.  We could lose to Charlotte also.  New teams like UTSA, UAB, and North Texas would probably blow us out.  Some of these teams are actually decent.
