That could happen.  At this point though, the interim coach's value is keeping the best players from defecting, if that's a risk in the first place.  If it doesn't, I'm expecting to go to the next game and express my displeasure with everyone else.  I'm anticipating a sideshow that will eclipse the one we gave Skippy in his swan song home appearance.  Heckling, bags on heads, booing, signs with expressive words will be the attraction.  It's certainly not pretty but thats what this team is facing.  The head coach won't be around much longer, the question is when.

Those players are going to defect no matter if you fire him now, or 3 weeks from now. If we retain Battie, Weaver, or Horne I’d be shocked.

I don't think booing the current team is going to make players want to stay.

Please....nobody should boo or wear paper bags.  It's bad enough for the players that they've lost this many games; they need support more than anyone.  The coaches at least get paid through all this. 

Don't let Battie, Weaver and others feel embarrassed and upset by the fans.  That will help them jump ship.

I for one would hate to see our best players leave. I don’t think they dislike USF, but I’m sure they dislike losing. They only get so many years in college, they don’t have time to wait around to see what happens.

I would hate it, too.  Find a coach they can believe in.  This one sucks.

Unfortunately I think the damage is too bad to overcome. I’m afraid they will all transfer. As much as I love USF, if I was them I’d go to a team that gets more exposure and success. We don’t exactly have a great history of hiring coaches who can win.
