that ECU game gave me Jameis vibes. Played well most the game but turned it over at the worst possible times

Maybe a QB controversy is a good thing.  Last year Cade Fortin was the clear #1 coming out of spring and in to summer and fall and that lasted about a quarter and a half before he face planted.

I wouldn't mind it if it were that obvious, but I don't know if that will be the case this time.
