What Happened vs UCF?

I was not able to see the game, but it looks like the wheels really came off - 27% shooting (10% behind the arc)

The rebounding seemed ok and 17 turnovers were not a killer, so was it poor shot selection or were they just not falling?

UCF's full court press all game took USF completely out of their game. USF's long distance shooting woes, sadly, continue.  UCF just outplayed us on both ends of the floor. Also, Jose did not use the bench at all, so the 4th quarter only got worse.

Ucf has found the way to beat Jose and it’s only a matter of time before everyone else does the same. We have shown we can not handle the press or half court trap and that’s what ucf specializes in. We won’t make it out of the 1st weekend unless we get a really good draw

USF was out coached, out played, out hustled, and out scored. USF cannot beat this team.

We probably just don’t have enough stability, we should just make the extensions longer and more frequent until the winning kicks in.

Must have been a heck of a press to hold us to 12 second half points - Jose’s not going to win many games doing that

I completely agree. UCF has found the way to beat us is to go on a pressing defense, their 3-2 zone shut our offense completely. Our team for the most part doesn’t handle the press well, lots of lazy passes that led to turnovers.

Also not sure why they kept picking up the dribble just over half court knowing the trap was going to be there.

This has been going on the last 10 years teams that trap and press kill us.

Having short guards doesn't help. Not one of them can throw the ball over a defender.  Our Super Bowl party host cancelled because of illness so we shifted the party to our place and didn't go to the game. Turned out to be a good move.
