We have zero high profile athletes or teams at the school.  There isn't going to be a whole lot to publicize right at this point.

Start winning and garnering some national attention and then, the athletes will get some interest.

It was only semi-serious.  You can't argue that there is any USF sport outside of maybe women's soccer and men's golf that are big time at this moment.  There is some exposure but most of it is on ESPN + now.

I know. I didn't realize we had that many in just football. Didn't even look at other sports. Honestly, I am surprised.

Unfortunately, there is nothing "big time" about any of those sports. They get some casual interests (I do enjoy women's soccer) but that is about it...very few people will get upset if they lose a big game or not.

Guess I meant "successful".  Understand your point.

So the debate is should a business invest in a player who is wildly unsuccessful in a "big time" sport or someone who is successful at a less popular sport?

Or business invest in a sport that reaches the most eyeballs…and football, regardless of the record, does that at USF. Now, if they are still not investing because they want to compare those eyeballs to a P5 program then that is a different story.

If you're doing an NIL and pick football at USF, you've decided long beforehand on football for no reason other than your bias towards it being the only big-time sport. If you're looking for return on investment, I can give you a hundred better ways to advertise your company than our football team. And if I were a local business owner with $5000 to burn and want to direct into USF athletics, I'd absolutely put it towards winning/successful programs and do my advertising somewhere else. And I'd lean hard into my association with winning and supporting college athletics and plaster it in all of my locations.
