GAME DAY vs. Tulane

USF will travel to New Orleans and Orlando for the final two games of the 2021 season, both locations it has had success, going 1-0 at Tulane and 3-3 at UCF. USF has lost 10-straight road games dating to an Oct. 26, 2019 win at ECU. The Bulls are coming off a season-best 42 points vs. Houston and then scoring 28 (21 in the second half) vs. Cincinnati, the most given up on the year by a Bearcat defense that entered the game ranked No. 3 nationally in scoring defense giving up just 14.9 ppg.

POINT PRODUCTION: USF is averaging 27.1 ppg in eight games with Timmy McClain starting under center after being shutout in the opener at NC State and posting 20 points vs. Florida prior to McClain starting. That jumps to 29.8 ppg in the five games since the bye week. The Bulls have failed to score less than 27 points just twice with McClain under center, both occuring in road games as USF scored 17 at SMU and 14 at ECU (in a rain storm) in losses. McClain led the Bulls to 27 points in his first career road start at No. 15 BYU.

HIGH PRAISE FROM HEISMAN WINNER: ESPN analyst and 1989 Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Andre Ware had this to say about USF freshman quarterback Timmy McClain on the Friday night ESPN2 telecast of the Bulls’ game vs. No. 2/3 Cincinnati: “He is ‘the next one’. I’ve watched plenty of film on this guy and couldn’t get enough of it. He is as accurate on the run as he is standing still...He is a ‘sick’ player that we are going to talk about for a very long time...he has the ability to make the game look easy...He is why guys are going to come from the state of Florida and other recruits too, to play alongside Timmy McClain because he is that good...I think the future is very bright here at South Florida.”
