The travel cost for that west conference is going to be wild

Not much farther than Tulsa.  Most (or all?) of those closer than Florida to Maryland.  I didn't map it all out, but I don't think it is unreasonable.  SDSU or Boise would start to get crazy.

Maybe they can work out a pod system of some type.

they should just move colorado state and air force to the "east" with our remaining 8. That would make two 10 team divisions. play a championship game.

all other sports play only teams in their division

The key would be your last point. Stay in division only. Of course if somehow SDSU and BSU also come on board that would make this easier as well.

For football, I think you keep the current systems of everyone in your division each year and every other year for the other division.

So I was doing some early morning thinking on my drive to work. Current rumors have UAB, Air Force, C State, SDSU, and Boise St to the AAC. That puts us at 13.

I say we also grab NDSU, Montana, and UNLV to go to 16. Really round out that Western half of the conference.

Also, possibly 18 teams with the addition of Hawaii and Army.

Please don't subject the beautiful, vibrant city of Las Vegas to the cesspool that is the AAC.

I think UNLV would be a great destination for eastern fans to travel to. Just my opinion though.

USF, Temple, and even Memphis continue to play their games off...

Pretty good article about things we already know. USF shot themselves in the foot as well as the Big East for sure.

You have to feel for Temple though (or not). They at least attempt to build a stadium, and the surrounding community says naw.

It's like being on the airplane.  I have to secure my own oxygen mask before assisting others.

I mean, of course, at that point you are just following rules.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
