Why is that relevant?

Well I missed a few words but I was trying to say that we actually have been quite consistent, and that’s the problem. You try navigating I-4, partying and posting on the bullspen.

We’ve had no consistency with head coaches, assistant coaches, leadership, culture, and players since Leavitt was fired.

Let’s face the reality:  USF is an easy gig for a coach to collect a couple of million before he ventures on to greener pastures or disappear into the college FB abyss.  Not a single coach since Leavitt has truly cared about this football program.  And since we are not a brand like the big programs we can’t bring in enough talent across the lineup to be competitive.  Transfer portal is not the way to build tradition.

Solution:  start over with Leavitt 2.0

been there done that

leavitt is yesterdays news

usf cant hire him because of the way he was fired

get real

coach scott is our man for years too come

I think we have been quite consistent.

He has to start winning and build something if we wants to stay more than next year. He needs some big wins and continue to improve every game.

I would have gone with continuity over consistency at this point.  We have consistently sucked. Let's turn it around and win a conference championship (obviously not this year but within a few years)

As much as I did call for Leavitt to return, it's true that Leavitt's best years are past him. CJS is planning to be here longer term. He may not turn down overtures from Alabama at year 12 like Leavitt, but I also feel he will be here for the better part of a decade. I think he plans to put roots and grow and win for a while. Let's give him a chance to make his mark. He got handed a pretty tough job with the dumpster fire that Strong left behind. It really is a shame how terrible of a coach Strong turned out to be. CJS has really put in hard work to change that culture. Anyone would need several years to undo the damage from Strong.

I thought the OP was referring to Scott and this alleged belief he wants to build something special here and stay around for it.

I think Coach Scott would agree.

Therefore, I think thread closed, we can all agree we have the right person at the helm 😉

All coaches will say that coming in but you have no idea how sincere they are until they have to make a decision ......
