So, we need to beat a team that wasn't ranked as high as us.  Sounds fair.  Eventually you have to beat "better" teams so it doesn't matter in the long view.  Like WBB, did it really matter when we faced NCSt?  To win the tournament you'd have to beat the best team in the bracket (assuming #1s moved on).

I am with you on this. It wouldn’t be an NCAA tournament without USF fans being upset about seedings. You are correct, at some point you have to beat somebody really good anyway you might as will make it early.

It's how many good teams you have to beat. Good teams get upset all the time in these tournaments. Having to beat fewer high-ranked teams is an advantage. Of course, there is no accounting for upsets, but when you are a #8 seed facing a matchup with a #1 seed you can't reasonably expect an upset in the first round to make your road easier (on paper).

Most teams are really good or they wouldnt be in the tournament to begin with, but they seed for a reason.  Of course you have to win them all against whoever to win it all.  But you might as well do random draw if it doesnt matter who you play and when.

So you are holding off the inevitable so you can feel good about your team winning one or two games more? Meh, you got to win a big one at some point.

Yeah, it would have been much better to watch Gonzaga and Baylor play in the first round of basketball tourney .....

That seems like a bit of an extreme comparison... we are talking women’s soccer. And we are talking USF. Without looking it up there is probably not too many on this board who could even tell me who the best women soccer teams are. Further, I suspect the difference between the last team to get in and the first team to get in is not as extreme as it would be in the ncaa MBB tournament. Regardless, my point is every year USF fans get upset about ncaa seeding like we deserve something better. How about win the **** game instead?

The ACC and SEC should be fighting over us. I’m sure they can tell by our women’s programs that we are ready for the big time🤣

Why does the sport or gender matter?   It's a national championship tournament.  Why don't we deserve better?   Why do we just have to shut up and be happy we are in?    Saw something where this is the 3rd time in 5 years that a top 16 RPI USF team not only doesn't get a top 16 seed but has to play another top 20 team in the 1st round.   This is on the heels of WBB being underseeded as well.    The seedings matter.   While we are battling a tough Central Conn St  team, Tex A & M is resting and waiting to play us just a few days later.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
