USF ended the season with a somewhat disappointing tie on the road to Cincy. They finished the regular season an impressive 7-0-2. They are ranked #14 by Top Drawer, #15 by the United Soccer Coaches, and #16 in the RPI. The caveat with the RPI is that it is extremely flawed this season given the dearth of non-conference games by which to compare the conferences against one another. However, the #14/15 ranking from the two major polls is promising for the Bulls.

They are the #1 seed in the tournament and will play #4 seed ECU at 7 pm on Thursday. The game is available on ESPN+. Win that one, and they will play the winner of Memphis v. Cincy. If Memphis is the opponent, it will represent another opportunity for a quality win against a Memphis team that currently is ranked #25/#21/#13 and would be 9-2-0 entering the game.

The Bulls really need to win the tournament due to a truncated NCAA Tournament this season in which only 48 teams will qualify (instead of the traditional 64). 29 teams qualify automatically (the Big West and Ivy cancelled their seasons, so that opened up two more at-large spots) and there are only 19 at-large bids this season (there are usually 33). If USF were to lose in the AAC Final, there is no guarantee that they would receive an at-large bid given the limited field. However, if they win out, they will be 9-0-2 and have an outside shot at a top 4 seed in the tournament. Pretty crazy to think that the Conference Championship could end up being an all or nothing scenario for Memphis and USF. Two teams that would have been locks for the NCAA tournament in any other year.

Bulls win 1-0. Will play Cincy in the final who upset Memphis earlier.
