Skip Holtz would agree.  He is going into his 9th year with LA Tech, making 800k per year base and holds a 61-41 record.

Not top dollar, but still a cushy, consistent gig

I had the same initial thought. Checked USCe Mens Soccer, saw coach and thought "****, they've already fired him."

Yep baseball went to SC, but he hasn't been all bad.   And regardless, the dollar$$$$$ can't be remotely comparable

Yeah, Kingston is at SC. He's got them in the top 15 for RPI in the SEC. That's not too shabby.

But how much more?  Then you’re fired for lowly performance and find yourself teaching high school and coaching D4 HS women’s soccer. Sometimes the long steady play is the best...assuming the $ differential is not that great. Not saying that’s always the case, and certainly not for football, but for soccer I don’t know if I would leave unless it was for a lot more.

Not buying...

Good for you.  Apparently, I did not know you all that is going on in this program including the mindset of the individual players.

Update:  Why the program had a difficult season

3 players went Pro in December right before the season started - They were going to be key contributors.

1 player opted for a USL contract so he could make sure his would get his U.S Visa

5 players had season ending injuries.     This team was playing on fumes with a thin bench.

That does explain a lot. Has he been able to start to replenish?
