Recruiting is the most important part of CFB and he brought in QF, Mack, Johnson, Adams, MVS, Hector, Senat etc... and the list goes on, give him his due.  I don’t think he was a good coach either but it worked out and for that he was a win, and somebody paid us when he left and not the other way around.

If it was broken down, lots of "good" coaches wouldn't have really been that "good"

Agreed, if you left the place better than where it was when you arrived than you were successful, CWT was successful here.

Please stop it with the 'Taggart was a win' nonsense!! He was terrible without QF...a great recruiter, terrible coach. The guy made Woodie DC! I mean come on! I'll give him an incomplete before I will say he was a win. Maybe a tie.

Just stop.  Taggart was a major win.  He brought in some of the best players we have ever had.  By the time he left, he was just out-talenting people.  You say he's terrible without QF, but who convinced QF to come here in the first place...Taggart.

Taggart would find us more QF's, Mack's, MVS's, etc.

Oh yes, I forgot Taggart had to convince the guy that had zero other QB offers to come here. You have this crazy revisionist history...Taggart was 2 games away from being fired but all the sudden he was the messiah. He is a strong recruiter and a strong recruiter can do damage in the AAC (ex: Scott Frost). Let's not pretend he has EVER done well anywhere as an X's and O's coach.

“This is not a broken football program by any means. It just needs to be united, to get everybody on the same page, share that same vision, and really to have that standard - best is the standard.”

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
