Texas paid Tom Herman to clean up what they thought was CCS mess. They are still awful. Umm. Although the statements you make are mostly correct. We have more problems than just who the Coach is. Yes. But I do blame CCS for the current lack of talent currently on the roster. Taggart proved you can recruit and win under the same circumstances. When Mccloud is in the conversation... it’s a coaching problem. However, maybe the school does not have the money to compete at this level. So now the argument has shifted from the school can win consistently with #Baymade to the program is now devoid of talent? Tag got lucky with flowers and a few others.... after the first string there it was all downhill. CCS was stubborn and should have been fired. However, getting blown out by ECU is an eye opener on the new coach.

But seriously, I don't know how we could not blame CCS.

However, getting blown out by ECU is an eye opener on the new coach. Although I am not thrilled with some of the playcalling (I don't think the offensive coaches have done enough to put the QB in situations to overcome what opposing defenses have been doing), the fact that we are putting lesser talent on the field and our team is vastly undersized at just about every position is on the Strong. How do you pick up the blitz when your biggest back is 175lbs? With the exception of Dukes our tallest reciever 5'11" we have a whole stable of slot receivers. On defense we are about 20lbs undersized at pretty much every position except DB. So, a finesse team like ECU easily pushes us around like a D1 school would push around a HS team because size wise, we just a bit bigger. Throw in that we had about 40% of our normal defense out for one reason or another, It is not surprising what what we have seen so far.

Give Scott some time and we can see what actual product he can offer. The man is coaching a team with a shortened spring practice time. welcome back Cory. Who knew the portal was a circle? He's 6-6 257... not by any means a massive lineman. By comparison... Hopple is 6-7 320 and can't hardly hold his own. Seems just better talent. So if Mike Houston and staff switched places with Jeff Scott and staff just prior to kickoff on Saturday night and Houston coached USF and Scott coached ECU, USF would have won the game? If you believe that, lay off of the crack pipe.
