Cinci... are they our rivals?

I don't hear many people refer to the Bearcats as a main rival of ours. There seems to be no real animosity between fan bases. No real hype leading up to game day. In my mind though they are only topped by UCF. WVU and Louisville back in the day as well but since those programs moved on that has died down.

After today we will have played Cinci 17 straight years with them holding the series advantage 7-9. A pretty even split. We've been in two separate conferences with them as well. Maybe it's because only 5 of the 16 games have been decided by a TD or less?  Idk but I for one always get up for this game.

I consider them one of our rivals. However, Lately, there has not been much drama or anything on the line when the games have been played so the intensity surrounding the game has not been there. 

For me, since Strong has been there it seems like we play the games just to play the games. There never seems to be much intensity about anything. The only time all season I felt really excited about what was going on was the last quarter of the BYU game. 

With the lack of enthusiasm on the field or excitement about the games I can’t say that any team is a rival rival right now. Any team we play is just this week’s opponent.

Our former Big East  brothers ( Pitt, West Virginia,  Louisville, Rutgers) aren't doing much in their new leagues,  the AAC would really be a P6 if they brought these four into the league and dispensed of Tulsa, ECU, Tulane, and one more, or not. Sure it won't happen because of those four having received financial gains a plenty but I can dream can't I.

I've never cared about playing Cincinnati.  Not sure why.

I have only hated two schools.  

Louisville and WVU. Playing them always got my blood flowing.
