BYU is unlikely. We've already failed to get Boise to join (and stay). Colorado State is probably thinking bigger than the AAC, and will  be content staying in the Mountain West until then. Army seemingly would be the most likely, and one of the better realistic options. Who else is there? Very few good options for us. Also, the Big 12 may view us the way you view FAU. At least FAU has won a Conference title recently, which is more than could be said about us.

I believe we actually lost to FAU the last time we played them as well. They gave us a bit of a scare back in 2007 on our way to #2 as well. Added bonus for me would be that I have family near Boca, and wouldn't mind the trip. I understand why they wouldn't be desirable to some, but I wouldn't mind them joining..

 Well, we were among the last eight standing for the Big 12 conference expansion study, so there's that. FAU wasn't even on the radar. I suppose we are the more attractive program despite the lack of Hardware. However, if I had to make a top 10 list of teams I'd want filling the slot that UConn is leaving behind, FAU would be in there. Realistically, there's not much to choose from.

Why waste your energy in the league period. Put some money together, upgrade the facilities, get an on campus stadium and hope for expansion.
