This is a pretty decent review by Joey. It lays out the pros and cons of the deal.

This problem could be reduced with one or combination of the following:

1. Make the conference for football only

2. Have some Olympic sports play triple headers against three other schools at one location.

3. Have an East and West division (14 teams).

East: USF, UCF, Cinci, Memphis, Navy, Temple, Army

West: Houston, Boise St, BYU, AF, SDSU, Fresno St, Utah St.

That's a football conference that would bring a lot more value than 7 mil a year per program. Something like that could only happen if a lot of different people put their egos to the side. So it's essentially impossible.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
