You don't know that and if there was a shorter deal to be had, it may have come with much less money annually.

or it could have been a ****** negotiator...

What was the AAC's main bargaining chip? Did we threaten to leave ESPN for Boomerang? ESPN would have laughed because Boomerang has Scooby Doo reruns and those destroy AAC football.

I don't know really but in the history of CFB TV deals a 12 year deal has never been signed by a conference. I would have taken less $ and used the time to continue to build the brand...with the assumption that the conference remains intact.

Bro, go back and read my post.  Pac-12 did a 12 year deal in 2011.

(Pleeeeaase try doing some fact checking before spreading things that just aren't true and can make people upset)

I do really enjoy watching the overreaction and disgust. If I had known so many on here had the intimate details on the negotiations, I would have asked how things were going weeks ago. For those of you that were there with Aresco when ESPN pantsed him and took his lunch money, what was the best offer that he turned down?

Bro? Ok..dude. In terms of your “facts” please try and compare apples and oranges before getting people all excited for this piece of **** deal. Yes I would be all for a 12 year deal for the $3 bil deal the PAC12 is getting. @puc86is right this conference is micky mouse and I’ll be shocked if it holds together past the contract length. Tulsa and Tulane must be laughing their asses off at their good fortune.

As stated above the PAC-12 signed a 12-year deal.  How much less annually do you think two less years would be worth?  1-million?  3-million?

I don't know if this is the best deal we could have gotten.  I also don't know that it's not.

Again I would take a $ hit to keep it at 6 years. Perhaps there is a belief that the conference won’t stay together and all of this is moot so sign long term and take the $. Hopefully we play decently enough over the next few years so we are not relegated to espn+...

I don’t think anyone thought we would be near P5 $ but without question putting the contract at 12 years is just plain dumb...

Not really if you're anticipating losing schools during that stretch.
