Close score but felt like we were never really in this game.

Kind of felt just the opposite. Felt like we were never really out of it until the very end. The 4 guards not named Collins had a combined point total of 15, on 4-21 shooting. One of them could have gone on a little streak at any point but it just wasn't to be ...

My thoughts:

Crowd was great! Got loud a few times,  but untimely whistles managed to interrupt the moment and crowd engagement every time. I think all that needs to be said about the officials has already been said.

UH did a really good job of defending the high screens and took away our dribble drives (basically neutralized Rideau) and defended the pick and roll extremely well. I counted less than 2 passes into the post.

When we got the ball into the post, Durr and Kiir had no awareness and no clue what to do with the ball. We need to get those guys in the weight room over the summer and teach them how to play down low. They both could be monsters on offense, but they're not there yet. To that end, Durr in particular got abused down low early and often.

Guard play with Collins as the exception was atrocious, but that speaks to our heavy reliance on Rideau and lack of post presence. Brown and Lang left at least 10 points on the floor.

We also got out-worked, which is rare. All in all, not a bad showing. This team will get better as the season goes on and could make some noise in the conference tournament. They are flawed, but they do not roll over and will not be an easy out.

Shout out to Rocky for coming up to the 200's to say hi to the children.

I won the raffle for the 2 tickets. I bought a 3rd ticket and took my wife and teenage son. Neither had ever been to any kind of basketball game ever, and they both had a great time. It’s an exciting team to watch. We will definitely be back for more games. It’s been years since I’ve been but I never missed a game when I went to USF.

My wife most enjoyed being able to make funny faces on ESPN since we were directly behind the broadcasters.

We aren't yet in the same class as Houston, which has a top 50 player and two senior guards.  They did a great job and Rideau and Yenta's foul trouble was decisive.  They had a great game plan and executed it to perfection.  This team is fun to watch but they are vulnerable to teams with outstanding guard play.  We are already the top rebounding team in the league and that shouldn't change over the next three years.  It would help if Collins would play two good halves.  The future is really bright and I hope fans won't get discouraged.  Next year we will have four decent to good guards and hopefully will recruit a three point specialist.  I still think we can get to 17 or 18 wins if we continue to improve.  Who thought this was possible.  I loved the emotion shown by our bench and coaches last night.  Passion personified.

Great job on Rideau is what I meant.  Sometimes you have to give credit to the other team.  And how is it every opponent seems to shoot 85% at the foul line against us?

I think Brad had previously mentioned that the seats were behind the broadcasters. I saw the two of you having some fun when you made it on camera and wondered if it was a TBP member. Those front row seats are great, aren't they?

Those seats are awesome.  My son and I got to sit there for a game earlier in the season.  Before the game, one of the ESPN guys was joking with my son about trading seats.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
