Ugh...I did not know next year is his senior year. Regardless, he would be a long shot in making an NFL roster...hope he comes back.

Speed kills at the next level and he doesn't have it.

MM has it and showed once he broke away.  It was a thing of beauty.

Stay in school young man.

He needs to come back but speed isn't one of his problems.  He has plenty of speed.

We must have watched different backs.  He was caught several times from behind which cannot happen at the next level.  Same thing happened to Andre Hall.

Watch clips of Mack.  He has another gear and was pulling away from defenders.  Once he broke into the clear it was over.

Thing slowed for everyone once they figured out Gilbert basically ran 5 or 6 plays.

Gilbert’s way of adjusting was legit just to play a different back. Bell has to be licking his chops knowing he’s about to be in charge of D1 Florida speed.

there are other RBs in the NFL who aren't as fast as Mack.  That's just a stupid... There are also RBs in the NFL slower than Cronkrite... who's a lot faster than Flowers btw.   How many TD runs over 50 yards did he have?  He's talented enough and has good enough speed to play in the league.  He'd get drafted, just in a crappy spot.  But if he'd played 3 years at USF he'd get drafted higher.

Just so you know... Mack runs a 4.5 ...

I'm right there with you. I feel like he'll be able to maximize guys talents.  Talent isn't one of our  problems.

Cronk is a 4.65 guy at 200lbs. Those guys are a dime a dozen. He’s closer to DJ’s skill set than MM

If he leaves I'm glad we witnessed history live.

This comes up every year around draft time. Speed is the least important factor on the margins. The difference between a 4.3 guy and a 4.6 is noticeable, the difference between 4.4 and 4.5 is about 2 yards in a 100 yard dash. It means virtually nothing. 95% of a RBs yards aren't gained on straight line speed. That's not a knock on Kronkite or a vote of confidence, it just doesn't matter than much for a RB. For a WR, maybe a little more. If you turn the corner with one guy to beat and you have 3 yards on him and he's facing the line as you run past, he will NEVER catch you even if you're a 4.6 guy and he's a 4.3 guy. He doesn't have the angle or a 300 yard field. Imagine you're racing a guy and you start 3 yards to his right and he gets a running start past you, you have to turn and accelerate. He's got a 7-10 lead on you before you start the chase.

Emmitt Smith was around a 4.5 too IIRC, and he's an HOFer
