Collins was that guy last year. @NewEnglandBullnailed it. There are other guys on the team now tha can legit play ball. Fewer touches, less rhythm, less production. With this roster, we should live in the paint on offense, speaking from a scoring efficiency standpoint. The outside shots should be open because of that, but thats secondary to the dribble drives and feeding the post.

Went to the game today and just was shaking my head at David Collins' play. I read the above post but don't remember seeing a player regress like he has no matter the team around him. When he penetrates he's just throwing the ball up toward the rim. No shooting involved. A couple of his 3 attempts looked like they were going in from our vantage point. Decent release and rotation. Not sure how they snap him out of it. The first 6 minutes was some of the best defense I've seen in a long time. We had, what, 3 blocks at the rim - maybe 4 with Maricevic's block. Our defense in the 2nd half was lacking. Guard were getting beat and when the bigs came to help out their guards dished for easy baskets. We will be offensively challenged all year. If you believe in the Oviedo Law, that makes us a top 25 team. Edited December 30, 2018 by JTrue

Such a buzzkill. After pointing out DC is the team’s leading scorer, you’re probably going to follow that up with how he’s also scoring more this year than last. Indeed. But, if you shift the frame of reference a bit and look at the last 10 games of last season where he really figured it out on offense, his production this year has been down a little. I think we were all expecting to see that DC and we did early. However, with the emergence of Yetna specifically and Durr/Kiir to a lesser extent, in addition to other guards that can put up 3s and/or penetrate, DC doesnt have to carry the offense. Not putting the kid down, just stating that there are more numerous and more efficient options on offense now which is great.

It isn't a criticism, it's an observation and an accurate one.
