Would be a little risky letting King call plays since he has never has.

Why does everyone seem to think King is some kind of offensive mastermind?

What gives people that idea?

Or is it just Buccaneers homerism?

He used more for recruiting purposes than anything else, all-a Marquel Blackwell.

I agree. not sure why people think he is a no-brainer. don't think he has ever called a play in his career.

Great analysis.

Gilbert is a horrible OC. No creativity. Unable to create or take advantage of mismatches. He needs to be let go before the Spring.

If CCS stays, his loyalty may have him keep Burke and Sterling. If Sterling finds other work probably the only way he leaves.

If CCS were a Shakespeare character he'd have telegraphed his fatal flaw of stubbornness, unwillingness to change and misguided loyalty in Act I and would be brought to his tragic end in Act V.

Acts III- the unraveling: getting beat by Houston followed by being embarrassed by Tulane.

Act IV- northernly exposed: getting beat on back to back trips to the great white north

Act V- the fall of the strong: getting massacred by the tinmen at home, and the firing of coach

Have you seen our play calling? Almost anything would be an improvement

I believe Coach Strong likes conservative and boring. Don’t how much creativity he would allow with King.

i can be the oc and call the plays with our current playbook and I will be much cheaper than SG.

Not advocating for King but people keep saying he's a risk because "he's never called plays before" the same thing was said about literally every OC before they got their first gig.   It's not like he's just some nobody either he ran offenses in the pro's and college at a QB which is the closest thing you can be to an OC on the field as you do actually call your plays at times.  Again this isn't saying hire King or he has to be the OC just that catch phrase is kind of dumb and misleading.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
