We were very close to the Military Bowl last year.  It makes sense that it would be "our turn".

We were close in both of the prior years. We had everything ready in 2016 for the game and there was a last minute change.

Bleacher Report has USF vs. FSU in the Gasparilla Bowl in their latest projections.

I have a hard time seeing FSU get to 6 wins, unless Willie has a 2015 USF type of turnaround. After Wake, they have Clemson, NC State, Notre Dame, Boston College, and Florida. S&P+ has them as an underdog in each of their final 5 games.

ESPN is reporting that they are only projecting 72 teams to be eligible for 78 bowl slots, so a 5-7 FSU team, while not as attractive, is a possibility.

FSU's 2016-2017 APR, which is what the NCAA would use to determine priority among the 5-7 teams is #125 out of 129 teams. If they aren't 6-6 they have virtually no chance of getting to a bowl game, even if there are 6 teams with a 5-7 record that would get in.

So instead of going to Birmingham. Birmingham would come to Tampa. Hmm for some reason that does not seem like a good idea.

Total fail by the Athletic department that USF has to travel to Birmingham twice and only get one game at home from Birmingham in return.

Tough schedule without question, but I think they can win 3 of those games.

Which 3? I think they win Wake and Boston College, but they will have to pull a significant upset to get a third

They will be very lucky to beat BC IMO.

Aren't they home for UF?  That's winnable and who knows if they pull off an upset or not with this wacky upside down world of college football
