Certainly execution left a lot to be desired. The. Left Tackle was getting beat a lot. Several dropped passes. Poor passes, but a lot of it still falls back on play calling. When the QB is having a rough night because he is feeling pressure, why do you continue to call plays that require time to develop?  Why do you keep running between the tackles without at least trying to run a few off tackle plays just to keep the ends from crashing?

It wouldn't hurt to actually run a few jet sweeps, even if they fail, to keep the defense honest.

Seems that Gilbert doesn't try to run much variety to help set the rest of what he wants to.

Maybe if everything is not being forced then execution may improve.

Excellent point...where did those passes go? Only Mitch had a presence in that range. Are all the others going long?

Those passes got taken out with Tulsa dropping 8 into pass coverage for a large portion of the game forcing us to throw deep and to the sidelines.

Probably Reagan .... I think he played Knute Rockne in a movie once?

I believe he actually played the Gipper in that movie.

Good point.  Tulsa DC called a good game.

Helps when the guy across the field from you is your former OC.

Job didn't let me watch the game live but I tried to stay a wake through the replay but I didn't quite make it. I saw a ton of execution issues as well. It really just looked like a team playing on a short week ( I could be wrong but I think the weather made it even shorter). Team stayed in the game and battled back from the brink of defeat. That's a sign of good coaching to me.

We have a lot of work to do.  I love that we are 6 and 0 with work to do.

True, but I could play DC against this team and pitch a shutout...stack the box on first and second downs, drop 8 into coverage or blitz every third down (throw a spy on Blake every so often). Boom 15 consecutive three and outs.

I hope word doesn’t get out, our nation-best scoring streak would be in jeopardy.
