The whole town almost went on strike in June out here, Vegas is very much right there with Chicago in that regard.

We had to walk through a small group of picketers yesterday morning but it wasn't much of a disturbance. Rooms were large and clean. If they were understaffed, it wasn't apparent from our experience. I better get a few free drinks out of this. Is that the one on Lakeshore in downtown? I've stayed there before, very nice. Any W hotel is nice, actually. Edit: the one I stayed at was the W Chicago Lakeshore. Great view of Navy Pier and not too far from the stadium if they still have availability. 13 hours ago, MikeG said: Another option-- AirBnB-- they are not on strike. Agree with this. I have family in Chicago and AirBnb is the way to go. Then Uber to the game. Totally worth it. Edited September 13, 2018 by GaUSFBull

No issues whatsoever and my room was ready. The only things affected are restaurants and room service.

Very happy to be in any room at all right now. 2 rooms at the Hyatt. Got checked in early with rooms next to each other. Originally they had us in 2 separate towers but switched it upon request. They warned us not to expect the room to get serviced but that, need be, we could text and they would see that it got done. Same for fresh towels.
