USF's track record with athletic directors is not great. The last two, Doug Woolard and Mark Harlan, were swell guys, but not great at their jobs. Kelly seems a bit more dynamic and on the ball than those two, but there's no question that this hire is a bit of a gamble.

Brilliant observation, Tommy .......... considering ANY hire is going to be a gamble.

I'm just not clear on how you have a vice president if you don't have a president.  And how do you have deputy directors of athletics if you don't have a deputy director?  I know it is just titles and the jobs are what they are.  Just doesn't make sense to me.
