I know, do we really need another thread, but I feel this deserves solidarity.

3 TOs. Back going back to Tulsa 2nd half. Ball on 30ish, and we KNEEL.

What happened to the killer instinct from last year?? Gave Tulsa all of the momentum going in at half, boos ringing out, USF heads hanging. Even Q looked befuddled. I simply dont get why we don't attempt 1 play at least???

Believe strong had confidence in his defense and felt it was better to not risk an ill advised interception to set them up for points. Probably should have run a draw of something to see if they could pick up big yardage, but I understand the thinking. Similar conservative play once their QB went down and they had to abandon the pass pretty much. Basically USF missed points because of 2 turnovers and gave them points with a blocked punt. Charlie obviously had no confidence in QF ability to avoid a turnover in the end of half or late game situations.

Agree...don't see why we couldn't have run a play or two there.  Conservative to a fault.

I was more upset about the last 3 quarters we scored only 6 points.

I'm sure Tulsa was not that upset about it either. Coaches get paid to make those types of strategic decisions, but I think a lot of coaches would try for points in that situation. We won, so Strong was correct (this time).

I hope he doesn’t expect that kind crap from Frost. I don’t think Friday’s will be the chivalrous gentleman’s game that he thinks football is. This guy is in his own little world with his we only need 30 points to win a game strategy. Either open it up or step aside

You will get this every time from CCS...it is how he coaches his teams (good or bad).

When I first saw the thread title, I'm like, "They play the anthem at the END of the half too?"

And then, I'm like, "Doh!"

I have not questioned the coaching much before the last couple of games, but a few signs of a poorly coached team is special teams, discipline (i.e. penalties), ability to adjust and clock management.

I will just leave it there.

"There is no inherent fear among this group of players. The fear of failing drove the program from day one - the fear of failing the coaches, the fan base, the university, each teammate, themselves. Now, as we head into the biggest game in our history at home on a national stage against the highest ranked team to step on OUR field, the players are taking an introspective look at themselves. Unfortunately, I don't know if they get it. They lack the fear."
