So has ours. Right now, the only reason to keep CCS is because of "the devil you know" and the worry that the next guy might be worse. Hope I'm wrong, though Huh?? I guess you forgot how CWT started off at USF. CCS installed a new system on both sides of the ball and is 3-0. Watching USF blow out Illinois just proves what he has said about the 1st two games in where they didn't open the playbook. If USF would have struggled I would be a little worried. I believe special teams needs to get better but I see improvements on both sides of the ball now. 2

I dont see him keeping his job if he aint competitive with FSU. Wont have the Dalvin Cook excuse this year. In other words he gone.

Pete, I'm probably just done truly caring about college football. I might still watch some games and support the university, but the winds would be taken out of the sails for sure. That outcome would be rediculous and unacceptable. 1

I thought that deserved its own thread. Anyway, I see a scenario where San Diego State will be ranked this week, not too far behind us. It is reasonable that SDSU will run the table. They play Boise State at home in 4 weeks and play at Air Force this weekend. The rest of the schedule should be fairly easy SDSU wins. SDSU has two P5 conference wins (Stanford and at Arizona State). The Mountain West is arguably more top heavy than the AAC. SDSU's division is garbage (even worse than the AAC East) and the play only Boise among decent teams in the other division. So, has USF lost the ability to control it's own destiny? If SDSU and USF both run the table which G5 Conference Champion will be ranked higher? Style points will mean everything from here going forward and USF has no margin for error. Charlie Strong doesn't do style points. That much is clear.

He kept the offense running. Guys gotta catch passes. Defense gotta make plays whether first string or 3rd string.

We are trying to build a perennial top 25 program. That happens by getting top 25 recruits. We lose a ton of players this year. Winning a NY6 bowl game on national TV will have a bigger impact on signing day than a G5 conference championship. Either way, we can't go NY6 without a conference championship. Isn't the early signing period in December now? Or didn't that go into effect?

SDSU could lost at Air Forc e this week. They also won't beat Boise twice. They also play NIU who beat Nebraska.
