Clerveaux must've had a heck of an offseason to make the 1 deep. And where's Craig Watts??? he was getting so much praise in the spring

He's still in the mix.

See article: Zebold: Other Bay Area Players Ready to Make an Impact mentioned above.

I'm sure by week 4 this will look different. Not only that but so many will play that it really doesn't matter

This depth chart is honestly baffling to me, as an armchair analyst.

  1. Reaves is a STARTER after just getting a schollie. WOW.
  2. Clerveaux as the starting Y
  3. McCants #3 in the slot
  4. Bronson nowhere to be found (I assume injury related)
  5. McGee passed over as a starter
  6. Watts is absent
  7. VJax is absent
  8. DJ, unless giving him NFL tape, at RB, KR, and PR is just dumb.

As an aside, our front seven are tiny. Sawtelle might as well be a safety. We're basically running a 4-1-6 out there. How many power run teams are we playing this year?

I wouldn't look too much into the depth chart, especially at WR.  I think there this going to be a heavy rotation to run the offense at warp speed.  Yes, we will try to exploit teams on D while trying not to substitute, but long drives will require substitutions.  Also, as far as McCants, I bet we have a few plays specifically designed for him.

This is the depth chart for SJSU.  It could be fluid every week depending on matchups.  We are hoping to win this game rotating 6-7 play calls with no specific wrinkles.  Lots of guys will get into the game.  This should be discussed further after Temple.

This chart was from the middle of last week, so don't think that this isn't designed to be a motivational tool leading up to the actual game.

Let's see who actually starts in those positions where we are surprised.

DJ playing 3 positions could be a bit much. He is a good returner, but just increases the risk for injury. What do I know. There is a reason I am typing on the bullspen and not coaching.
