07 would have destroyed the 16 warm butter schedule. Would have been like playing UCF every week.

WhatIfSports had Temple winning 5 out of 5 times, with an average score of 32-12.

Temple 16 defeating Bulls 07?

Perhaps.

This is like Family Guy changing "Dr.Who" to "Dr. Who Farted."

My original post title is: which is the better football year?

BTW, I'm not arguing. I just wanted to use the Family Guy example. :lmao:

Better year?  2016. All the arguments about 2007 focus on the early part of the season. We got embarrassed (some would say exposed) in the second half of the season and never came close to winning the bowl game.

Finishing the year ranked is better than being ranked and falling out, so I would say this year is the best complete season. Definitely the #2 season in my mind.

I still have to give the nod to 2007 because we played and beat teams that mattered (sorry AAC), there was way more buzz and a legit shot at the national title. Of course it didn't happen and it ended with a gut punch. I would rather have fewer wins and play against the better teams.

This is what I remember most, how much the city was jumping on the bandwagon. I'll never forget an article in the St Pete Times (lol) with the Gators (the present) the Nole's (the past) and the bulls (the future) and I was thinking how crazy it would be for usf to make the elite leap.

What's interesting is to look at the attendance. It appears that our fan base nucleus has in fact grown as most opponents in 2016 did not have the draw that many teams did in 2007.

2007, If we had won the Conference that would have changed my mind. That 07 team was a blast, and there is a reason we had sell outs that season and had lots of fans in the upperdeck. This season the stadium was half empty for every game except for FSU.
