Mack should do what is best for his future...

 

However, he may have a great chance this year to pad his stats and get bigger

 

also, it's nice to graduate

Oh he will go pro, it is just a question of when.  How many yards did Charlie Strong's running back at Texas have this year?  It was over 2,000. I guess it's not all bad being a back in a Strong

if we played him in 2017, you may be right...we're good for 200+, sadly.

I think if any scout tells Mack that he is a 3rd round lock he is gone. Too easy to go and get that money. He reminds me of a larger change of pace back like Sproles, Giovani Bernard, or Chris Sims. If he's projected anything later than the 4th round he should come back. It would be tough to go early and get no guaranteed money.

True. But the graduation argument isn't a strong one accept only for the typical Joe IMO. Many former NFL players (and other professional sports figures) return to finish up their degree. Some also go on to become coaches, commentators, etc. My biggest fear (and a strange one) is that if Mack does very well against South Carolina and with other RB's already deciding to stay that his stock would rise and thus increasing his chances of hitting the jackpot. It's really all so bittersweet.

If he leaves, I wish him the best. We are loaded at running back and would love to see some of these youngsters or DJ get some more shine.
