He should go if he gets a 3rd round grade or better.  No guarantee after 3, might as well come back and try to improve.  If he gets to a 2 he made money.  If he drops a bit he'll make slightly less, but have same chance to make the team since he would not have a guaranteed contract.

Don't forget, Darius Tice may be granted an extra year also.  Johnson and Tice would make a great combo next year.

Some minor details around the program have changed since then, FWIW.

I mean...minor details?  Like Charlie strong?

I think that would influence him to STAY.  Lol

He's made his mark at USF, about the only reason for him to stay at this point is the CC (which would be a pretty good reason IMO).

True. But the graduation argument isn't a strong one accept only for the typical Joe IMO. Many former NFL players (and other professional sports figures) return to finish up their degree. Some also go on to become coaches, commentators, etc. My biggest fear (and a strange one) is that if Mack does very well against South Carolina and with other RB's already deciding to stay that his stock would rise and thus increasing his chances of hitting the jackpot. It's really all so bittersweet.

I never made an argument for graduation...

I recommend that he does what is best for him

I really like Sands too, said same about Wilcox before this year

Me too, the coaches seemed to rave about him during the spring and fall camp.  His name was always popping up in practice/scrimmage reports too.  I would almost rather Tice grad-transfer if possible if he gets the extra year and Mack leaves.  We need to start working the young guys into the offense so they aren't totally green for the 2018 season.

hard to believe we're only halfway through the Mack'N'Mack era. If Mack stays next year we could run a two RB formation with two Macks. Would be awesome.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.
