Western Michigan at #20 is what makes me .  They don't play anybody.

Why? They've beaten 7 nobodies and we've beaten 6. Seems like a 5-10 spot difference in ranking is justified.

The system is set up to reward undefeated teams, even if they haven't played anyone.  Both Boise and Western Michigan would have lost to FSU, but since they haven't played them, and won all of their mid tier games, they are ranked.

If USF would have scheduled, oh, let's say Georgia Tech, or Duke instead of FSU and won, we'd be ranked in the top 20 right now.

On the other hand, if USF had taken care of business vs. FSU and won, we'd be in the top 10 now.

I always thought the system was set up to reward the teams that were ranked before the first game of the season was even played.

We should be around rank 20.... We lost one game to a hyped FSU and have taken care of business...

It does which is why I never thought we would be ranked in the top 10 this year.

:popcorn:I would love as to why you feel we have "taken care of business."

Yes, we have won all accept for the FSU game but some other schools have beaten some pretty decent teams....

We should be ranked in the AP if we win Friday night with:

#17 Arkansas @ #21 Auburn

#23 Ole Miss @ #25 LSU

Then, potential losses of:

#26 Colorado @ Stanford

Memphis @ #24 Navy

Regarding a NY6 bowl, if we go undefeated and win the AAC championship game and Boise state goes undefeated do we have a chance or is it Boise that gets the spot?  Memphis and Navy ( or Houston in the championship) are the only teams that might propel us high enough in the rankings. I'm wondering if that would even be enough.
